Michael Shainblum is a landscape photographer, aerial cinematographer, and filmmaker based in San Francisco, California. Starting his career at 16, he has spent 17 years pushing the boundaries of visual storytelling, from erupting volcanoes in Iceland to the sand dunes of Death Valley, the fog-draped skyline of San Francisco to the ancient peaks of the Dolomites.
His work captures the natural world at its most cinematic, moments of light, motion, and atmosphere that most people never see. Commissioned by some of the world’s most recognized brands and published in outlets from National Geographic to Wired Magazine, Michael brings the same relentless attention to craft to every project, whether a global ad campaign or a solo landscape expedition.
